An exhibition of these photographs was launched at Scouts and Guides Pavilion at Shivaji Park on September 27, 2008 and was open to public on 27 and 28 September 2008. It was a unique way to make the Policy Makers and the City Planners take notice of pedestrian safety angle through eyes of the children. The exhibition was covered by 7 media stories in Mumbai.

PHOTOVOICE-Phase II
Building a better environment for children to walk was a logical continuation of the project. As part of a Photojournalism Phase II, with funding from FedEx, Safe Kids Foundation, Mumbai, was inspired to make the road environment safer for the child pedestrian outside Sir J J Schools at D N Road, Fort, Mumbai. It was very hazardous road and children would often be seen crossing between vehicles. The vehicles come speeding, which poses a threat to the lives of school children.
Safe Kids Foundation with funding from FedEx arranged to paint zebra crossing, install speed arrestors with cat’s eyes and put up signage of speed limit, pedestrian crossing and school ahead. To view this click http://www.safekidsfoundation.org/photo-gallery/educational-program
Our evaluation of the tests held in Mumbai during the academic year June2009-May2010 shows an improvement in the understanding of our concept by 23%.
