Safe Kids Foundation and program sponsor FedEx created Safe Kids Walk This Way program to teach safe behaviors to motorists and child pedestrians and to create safer and more walkable communities. The goal of the initiative is preventing injury to child pedestrians.
This program brings together teachers, parents, FedEx employee volunteers and safety advocates to teach students and encourage awareness of pedestrian safety and provide long term environmental improvements to make school zone and neighborhoods safe for pedestrians.
National Cadets Corps (NCC) celebrates Traffic Control Week in November, 2007
National Cadets Corps is a Tri-services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The NCC celebrated the Traffic Control Week 2007 from 17th to 25th November,2007. Safe Kids Foundation conducted a program on road safety for senior cadets and Associate NCC Officers in Mumbai.

Road Safety Week 1st to 7th January, 2008
Role of Safe Kids Foundation in the Road Safety Week 2008
I. Competition on Road Safety Exhibits
Children prepared exhibits on road safety. These exhibits include models,charts and posters.These exhibits were displayed on the final day of the rally of Road Safety Patrol, where Shri R.R.Patil, Hon.Dy.Chief Minister of State of Maharashtra was the chief guest.
2.Essay Competition
An essay competition on Road Safety was organised on 5th January, 2008 at the Traffic Police Headquarters, Mumbai. Children from various schools participated in the competition.

The Honorable Mayor Dr(Mrs.)Shubha Raul of Mumbai expressed her solidarity and support for the 'Walk This Way program and commended Safe Kids Foundation - India for championing pedestrian safety awareness among children.
