Of every five fatal accidents occurring in Indiain a year, Mumbai records one, thereby topping the list of accidents in thecountry. This was revealed in theNational Crime Record Bureau's 2008 report, the latest complied data with the home ministry, which showed that Mumbai recorded 18.5% of the total accidentsin the country, while Kolkata was at the bottom of the list with a record ofonly 1.8%.
